Phoebe Davies works with site specific performance and live installation to investigate the boundaries of excepted norms within day-to-day social scenarios. Her work is intrinsically defined by it’s situation and context and is often chanced upon, existing primarily in public spaces in addition to galleries and institutions.
Working with people, she manipulates situations either through direct interaction or subtle durational performance nudging the habitual routines of the public. Through instructions and constructed scenarios she investigates the roles of an artist, generating work that is initiated by an individual but completed or extended by others.
Creating everyday occurrences that may be mistaken for artwork and artwork that may be mistaken as everyday occurrence.
Phoebe is currently the facilitating a series of Live Art in Schools workshops at Leyton 6th Form, in associtation with Artsadmin's Pass IT ON projects.
