A new performance by Action Hero touring the UK.
Watch Me Fall is for the daredevils. Its about our obsession with those who attempt the impossible, the futility of their attempts and their inevitable fall from grace. Set on a DIY runway with a standing audience, Action Hero push the limit in the name of entertainment.
The show started life as a 10 min re-enaction of an Evel Knievel motorcycle jump in April 2008. Since then Action Hero continued performing home-made stunts to audiences across the country until Watch Me Fall was born.
This piece develops Action Hero’s British take on American culture, first explored in A Western, to create a thrilling, thought-provoking miniaturisation of macho American daredevilry.
Watch Me Fall is an Arnolfini we live here commission developed at Shunt, Forest Fringe and Residence, supported by Showroom Chichester, funded by Arts Council England. The show premiered at Arnolfini in Feb 2009, prior to dates at The Arches, Glasgow, Burst festival at BAC and Innmotion festival in Barcelona.
